Take a tour of peoples library - Lower burrell
Welcome to Peoples Library! Come on in, and stay for a while. While you're here, check out the place (and some materials while you're at it.) Read on to discover some of what our library has to offer.
Our staff can assist you in many ways, but things to visit them for include: signing up for a library card, and/or an internet/word processing session, checking out materials, and/or seeking their help in finding a resource.
Peoples Library isn't just a place to check out books; you can surf the net, print a resume, or finalize a school paper on one of our 8 computers. All 8 offer internet, and 4 have word processing software. Patrons can also print for a nominal fee. We also maintain two separate computers for searching the catalog, and a section of 2 computers designated for children.
Relax in this comfortable area as you browse through our many magazines and newspapers.
Check out an old classic or a new flick. Peoples library maintains separate sections of materials for children and adults in this area. Videos and DVDs may be borrowed for 7 days at a time.
The library offers an extensive Fiction collection, including Westerns, Science Fiction, Mysteries, and Large Print. We also have a large range of Non-Fiction books, including Biographies and a large collection of a variety of cookbooks. Click here to search our catalog for the item you are looking for.
Stop here to pick out a paperback to borrow "on your honor." We do expect you to bring it back, but it's up to you when that will be. We only ask that you treat this system responsibly so that someone else has the chance to read each book, too. On your way out, stop by the Circulation Desk and let a member of our staff know how many you'll be taking. That's all there is to it!
CHILDREN'S SECTION
Foster your child's development as you guide him or her in exploring the wonderful world of reading.
The children's section of Peoples Library is a special place for children to develop a love of reading. We have board books for our youngest members, and a wide selection of picture books for all other ages. There are even some toys and puzzles here as well. Be sure to check out our events page to sign up for one of our many children's events, such as Story Hour.
This special section has 2 computers devoted to children's use.
Our community room hosts a weekly Story Hour, which has varied themes throughout the year. Patrons who register can enjoy songs, stories, and craft time led by our Youth Services Coordinator.
Peoples Library also has a Young Adult section for those patrons who have outgrown the children's section, but aren't quite ready for adult material.
