Will you consider a planned gift to Peoples Library?

A planned gift integrates a charitable gift into the donor’s overall financial, tax and estate planning. It is also thought of as a legacy that benefits not only the donor and the donor’s family but future generations. Planned gifts can be made using many different kinds of assets: cash, charitable bequests, gifts of real estate or appreciated marketable securities.

Direct gifts of cash made in cash or check are fully tax-deductible as Peoples Library is a public charity registered with the IRS.

Charitable bequests allow donors to retain assets during their lifetime and then make a significant gift to Peoples Library after their deaths. The gift can lessen the amount of death taxes the estate pays, leaving more for heirs. A charitable bequest is accomplished when the donor leaves assets to Peoples Library in a will or trust.

Gifts of real estate may allow donors to realize a tax deduction, avoid capital gains taxes, retain lifetime occupancy for yourself and/or another person, and provide support to Peoples Library.

Gifts of mutual funds or appreciated stocks and bonds may provide tax advantages over giving cash and may enable donors to give more than they could otherwise afford as cash.

Making a planned gift is always a big decision. Under the proper circumstances, planned gifts can generate income, save on taxes, benefit a donor’s loved ones, and provide a wonderful gift to countless others. Whether you make a direct gift of cash or property, fund a charitable gift annuity or a charitable trust, please include Peoples Library in you will or estate plan.

Consult with you attorney or a tax advisor about your individual plan.

Please contact us today for more information. Phone the Director of Peoples Library at 724.339.1021 ext12 and tell him that you are interested in making a planned gift.
